Seasons
What really causes seasons? Many people think that it's how close the Earth is to the sun but they would be wrong. One factor that actually does effect seasons is earths revolution around the sun. Because of how the Earth is positioned on its axis the northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere get direct sunlight at different areas of Earths revolution. The more direct sunlight you receive means the higher the temperature is. Thats why the closer you get to the equator the hotter it gets. Direct sunlight is another factor. Higher temperatures comes with the summer months. Then with less indirect light comes more winter months. The last factor is the angle of the Earths axis. We are very lucky that the Earths axis is at a 23.5 degree angle. If it were at 90 degrees only a particular place would receive light all year long. Which would mean only that place would have seasons. All these reasons are why the Earth has seasons.
